Age UK Hertfordshire is an independent charitable organisation based in Welwyn Garden City which has contact with over 3,500 older people or their carers every week. It is one of the largest charities in Hertfordshire employing over 150 staff on 9 different sites.

We are looking for two SWIFT Project Coordinators for our community scheme

 

One post based at Exchange Road, Watford
One post based at Silver Court, Welwyn Garden City

28 hours a week (hours negotiable, days flexible by arrangement)

Fixed term until 31st March 2011
FTE salary £17,259 per annum

The main purpose of the posts is to support the Swift Team Leader and help deliver a new scheme, the aim of which is to ensure that older people with low level mental health needs are supported within the community and matched with suitable support from volunteers to maintain independent living.

The post holders should have the ability to empathise with older people and will ideally have experience of delivery of services to the community, along with knowledge of the Mental Health and Health Service. A fundamental part of these posts is to recruit and supervise volunteers, so previous experience of this is desirable.

Help in the Home Coordinator

Full-time, 35 hours per week

based in Welwyn Garden City

£17,500 per annum

The main purpose of the post is to coordinate the day to day running of the Help in the Home service in the Welwyn Hatfield district. This role requires previous experience of administrative procedures and an understanding of the emotional and practical needs of clients. A key part of this post is to recruit and select Home Helpers for the scheme; therefore the ability to support recruitment and management of both staff and volunteers is also essential.

HOME HELPER

£6.90 per hour plus regular holiday pay

Would you like to help older people remain independent and living in their own homes?  We are looking for home helpers willing to work flexible hours between 9 to 5 weekdays to provide cleaning, domestic tasks or shopping in South West Hertfordshire.
