Your doorstep, your decision is a campaign run by the Office of Fair Trading to promote awareness of rogue doorstep sellers and to educate people about how they can protect themselves. The campaign is aimed at older people, in particular women who live alone, and especially those who are unable to get out or who are socially isolated.
The Office of Fair Trading has produced a useful leaflet "Your doorstep, your decision" which gives advice on:
- What is doorstep selling
- Common sales tactics
- How to handle sales approaches
- Buying wisely
- Recognising reputable traders
- What rights you have
